Museum of Gallo-Roman Civilization
Museum of Gallo-Roman Civilization (17 rue Cleberg, 69005 Lyon) – this museum evolves around two unique sites from the Roman era (that was excavated by 1933): The Theatre (which was built around 15 BC – the oldest in Roman Gaul), and the Odeon ( a small theatre built around 100 BC for musical productions). This Museum’s collections cover every chapter of the public and private life of a Roman Empire capital.
Hours: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Tuesday – Sunday), closed on Mondays. Admission: €4 (adult), €2.50 (reduced). Free for children under 18 years, and the unemployed. Free admission for all on Thursdays.
