Trois Vallées (Tarentaise Valley, Savoie département) – located in the heart of the French Alps (south of Albertville), this is a poplar skiing region that consists of the following destinations: Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, Orelle, and Val Thorens. There are 318 marked ski-slopes — offering a total of 600 km. of pure skiing enjoyment. Thanks to around 180 ski-lift installations, the ski-slopes at between 1,300 and 3,200 meters are reached quickly and easily. From easy to difficult runs, there’s something for everyone, so that experienced skiers as well as beginners can all enjoy a tour through the valleys.


The TGV rail line stops at the main train stations in Savoie and Haute Savoie: Aix-les-Bains, Albertville, Annecy, Annemasse, Bonneville, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Chambéry, Cluses, La Chambre, Modane, Moutiers, Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains, Sallanches, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, Thonon-les-Bains.

Also, for those arriving from the UK during the winter season, Eurostar trains run direct from London to the French Alps (Aime-la-Plagne, Moûtiers and Bourg-St-Maurice) on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings during the ski season.
